Privacy Policy

1. What the App Does

Rewind allows you to select a video from your Photos library, reverse it on-device, preview the result, and save the reversed video back to your Photos library. No video content is ever uploaded to any server. All video processing happens locally on your iPhone.

2. Data We Collect

We do not collect any personal information such as your name, email address, or location. The following data may be collected automatically through third-party SDKs integrated into the app:

2a. Firebase Analytics (Google)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. This includes:

• Anonymous usage events (e.g., "video reversed", "video saved")
• Device type, iOS version, and app version
• Session duration and general app usage patterns

2b. Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

We use Crashlytics to receive automated crash reports when the App encounters an error. Reports include:

• Crash stack traces and error messages
• Device model, iOS version, and app version
• Time of crash

No personal data or video content is included in crash reports.

2c. Google AdMob (Advertising)

Rewind may display ads served by Google AdMob. Before any advertising data is collected, the App requests your permission using Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

• If you allow tracking: your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) may be used to serve personalized ads.
• If you deny tracking: only non-personalized, contextual ads are shown. No IDFA is accessed.

3. Photos Library Access

The App requests access to your Photos library for the sole purpose of saving your reversed video. We use NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription — a write-only permission — meaning the App can only add videos to your library, not read or browse your existing photos or videos.

4. How We Use Data

• To improve app stability (crash reports)
• To understand how users interact with the App (analytics events)
• To display relevant ads and keep the App free (AdMob, subject to your ATT choice)
• To remotely configure app feature flags (Firebase Remote Config)

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for purposes beyond those described here.

5. Third-Party Services

The following third-party services may process data as described above:

• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config)
• Google AdMob (Advertising)
• Apple StoreKit (App ratings)

Each third party is bound by their own privacy policy and provides at least equivalent data protection as required by Apple's App Store guidelines.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Analytics and crash data are retained by Google per their standard retention policies (typically 14 months for Analytics). The App itself stores no personal data on-device beyond a usage counter (number of video reversals) used to time the in-app rating prompt.

To request deletion of any data associated with your device, you may:

• Reset your Advertising Identifier in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
• Opt out of Firebase Analytics by disabling tracking in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Rewind

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
